Kimberly Bland's photoKimberly Grace Bland (CFD-ECE PreK-2) is one of many student leaders found in the halls of Dawson. Currently, she is serving as state chair of the student chapter of the Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

In this position, she represents FACS students who attend UGA, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Georgia Southern University and Fort Valley State University. Her responsibilities include overseeing the activities, recruitment and goal-setting for the student associations at these four institutions. Bland also will preside over the 2003 Student State Meeting in Tifton and attended both the national meeting of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the state GAFCS meeting.

In August 2002, Bland sent personal, handwritten notes to all incoming FACS students at the four institutions, encouraging them to get involved in their local student organization, as well as the state and national organizations.

Bland is the daughter of FACS graduate Judy (BSHE ’74, Clothing and Textiles) and Mike Bland. She is originally from Tifton.
