Research:
Hispanic children and their families, teaching non English speaking children, emotional socialization of preschoolers.

Teaching:
Integrated Curricular Practices in Early Childhood Education, Student Teaching in Early Childhood Education, Prenatal and Infant Development, Adolescence and Young Adulthood Survey, Theory and Curriculum in Early Childhood Education, Developmental Issues of Elementary School Learners, Understanding Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Schools, and Introduction to Child Development.

Interests:
I enjoy teaching basic human development courses as well as courses that relate to the education of young children. The majority of my time is spent in coordinating the Pre-K to 2nd Grade Emphasis Teaching Preparation Program for the Departments of Child and Family Development and Elementary and Social Studies Education. I have a special interest in children who speak Spanish as their primary language--how are their educational needs met? I am interested in issues related to the Latino population, especially acculturation.
