Burn Camp (Camp Oo-u-la)
Burn camp is a service-learning course for social work students working on their master’s degrees. It takes place in May and is a partnership with the Georgia Firefighters’ Burn Foundation. Burn camp provides students with the chance to spend an intensive week working with burn-injured children to enhance the kids’ self-esteem. It is also an opportunity for students to learn social work values as well as essential life lessons. For more information, visit http://www.ssw.uga.edu/, and click on the Service-Learning link at the bottom of the page.
