Setting up a Master, or Instructor, clicker allows the instructor to freedom to move about the room while navigating through PowerPoint presentations and Response questions using only a clicker.

  1. Double click on the Interwrite Response shortcut on the desktop (or go to Start → Programs → Interwrite Learning → Interwrite Response → Response).

  2. Under “What do you want to do?”, select the Setup My Hardware button.

  3. In the left hand column, select "Configure Clickers"

  4. In the "Set Clicker Type" drop down menu, select Instructor and click the Setup button.
  5. In the Feedback box, it will search for a channel before providing a letter or number to join the instructor, or master, clicker.

  6. Turn on the clicker you would like to use as your master clicker, when "Scanning classes" appears, press the number to join indicated in the Feedback box.  The clicker should say "Instructor".  When it does, press the green enter key on your clicker.
  7. Press the "*" (asterisk) button on your clicker till the "Setup Menu" appears.  Then use the up or down arrows to navigate through the menu till it says "Diagnostics".  Press the green enter key when "Diagnostics" appears.  It should then display your Radio ID, or Clicker ID, on the screen.  You will need to enter this ID code in the hardware setup.
  8. Back on your computer screen, click on "Instructor Clicker Setup" in the left hand column.  Check the "Enable Instructor Clicker" box and enter the Radio ID, or Clicker ID, as it appears on your clicker.

***PLEASE NOTE***

Clicker packages come with a stick-on "Master Remote" label which indicates what each button on the Master clicker does.

When using the Master clicker with PowerPoint, use #3 (Page Up) and #9 (Page Down) on the clicker to navigate through PowerPoint slides.  After a slide with a question, wait for the chart to pop up then press #9 to move to the next slide.  If you press the chart button, you will need to manually select the PowePoint presentation before the Master clicker will control your presentation again.
