This is often a point of confusion for many folks. While you can login to the Novell Netware resources for both the FACS context and the MYID context from any of the PCs in the college, they offer very different user experiences and access to very different resources.
Everyone at the University has a MYID account and if you login to Novell Netware using your MYID account, you will have access to a network drive, seen in My Computer as the U: drive. Your space quota on this drive is 25Megs for Students and 40Megs for Faculty/Staff (don't be fooled by the large free space listed by Windows -- that's the entire MYID drive space, not *your* quota).

When folks login using their FACS account, all Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students will have access to a 500Meg network drive, seen in My Computer as the M: drive. You will also have access to a departmental shared drive, P:, as well as access to a temporary storage drive, T:. Data on the M: and P: drives is backed up daily while the T: drive is cleaned out every Sunday.

More information on FACS network drives can be found Here
In addition to the username and password to access either FACS or MYID Novell Netware network resources, you have to have a Windows local account to use Windows XP PCs.
Computer Services has setup our PCs so that when you login, you will have a local Windows account automatically created on the PC.
If you login using your MYID account, when you logout, any changes you may have made to your desktop, or other saved user preferences will be totally erased and the next time you login, you'll see the original desktop. This allows users outside the college to use our PCs without giving them access to our network resources, or changing the local PC filesystem.
When you login using your FACS account, a local Windows account will be automatically created, but as opposed to the MYID local account, this account will persist after the user logs out, meaning all of your changes will still remain the next time you login.
