Point your Web Browser to https://hestia.fcs.uga.edu/NetStorage

You'll see a dialog box similar to the following if you're using Firefox or Mozilla Communicator

If you're using Internet Explorer you may see a different login box, or, if you are already logged into your Windows machine, Internet Explorer may automatically log you into Netstorage

Note: You must allow Popups from this site in Internet Explorer to be able to download files by clicking on the Popup toolbar.

If you are not using Internet Explorer, or if your Windows Username is different than your NDS login, login as you would to access Hestia on your workstation.

  • The NetStorage page looks similar to a Windows Folder and File window, with your parent folders in a Tree configuration on the left sidebar, and your folders and files listed in the main frame to the right.

  • The file will be highlighted -- type in a new filename.

  • Select Save it to disk to save the file locally.

  • Once you are through editing and saving your file locally, you need to Upload the file to the server.

Select File -> Upload from the menu.

  • You'll be prompted to confirm the deletion.

  • If you made a mistake in deleting a file, you can Undelete the file, as it is kept on the server until it is Purged

To view your Deleted Files click on the View -> Show Deleted Files menu.

  • Your page will refresh, showing Deleted Files in Red

  • To undelete the file(s), either Check the box next to the file, or Right-Click on the file, and select Undelete.

  • Note: If you have a slow Internet Connection, you may want to use NetStorage in Text View. To do so, Click on the Text View Icon above your file listing.

This view presents your files more simply, without much of the Icon Graphics, thus producing faster browser refreshes for Slow Connections
