How can I create a Windows XP Web Folder for Netstorage?

Desktop shortcut using Windows XP Web Folders:
(other MS operating systems should be similar)

  1. Open "My Network Places", or "Network Neighborhood".
  2. Click "Add a Network Place".
  3. Click Next.
  4. Choose the option to specify another network location such as Web Site or FTP.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter https://hestia.fcs.uga.edu/oneNet/NetStorage as the Internet or Network Address.

    Note: The "N" in oneNet may be case sensitive and should be capitalized.

  7. Accept the Security Certificate*.
  8. Enter a name for the connection such as MyData at HCC (Click Next).
  9. Click Finish to open the connection.
    Note: If the folders do not come up after a short wait, please minimize windows to confirm that another Security Certificate is not waiting to be accepted in the background.*
  10. After the connection has been created, it will appear in Windows Explorer, a shortcut may be placed on the desktop.
    1. Right click on the new connection in Windows Explorer.
    2. Hold down the right mouse button as you drag the icon to the desktop.
    3. Release the right mouse button on the desktop where you would like the icon placed.
    4. Select "Create Shortcut Here" from the resulting menu.
    5. The connection should be persistent and remain after the workstation is restarted.
    Note: You will be prompted to accept the security certificate each time you reconnect.*
