How do I access my computer using Remote Desktop Connection?

Accessing your computer using Remote Desktop Connection

Now that you know your computer's IP address and have confirmed it is setup to be accessed, use the following steps to access your computer remotely:
  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking on the Start menu and select Run


  2. Type in mstsc and click the OK button



  3. Type in your computer's IP address in the text field and click the OK button



  4. A login window will open. Type in your FACS username and password in the appropriate fields and click the OK button


  5. The Remote Desktop window should open displaying your desktop settings, files, and programs that are on your computer

  6. To end your Remote Desktop session, simply click on the Start menu and select Disconnect
