DW Brooks Lecture: Fight to end early childhood malnutrition

The 2016 D.W. Brooks Lecture and Awards will be held on Monday, Nov. 7 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center at the Georgia Center in Athens, Ga. The lecture begins at 3:30 p.m. in Mahler Auditorium. Reception will follow at 4:45 p.m.

Lecture

Roger Thurow will present this year's D.W. Brooks Lecture entitled, "1,000 Days to Change the World: Stories from the Fight to End Early Childhood Malnutrition."

Thurow's talk is free and open to the public. Staff, faculty and students from across the university are encouraged to attend.

Roger Thurow has been a senior fellow on global food and agriculture for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs since 2010. Thurow is widely-recognized for his expertise on agricultural development, speaking around the world about the role agriculture plays in combating hunger and improving nutrition. During his time with the Wall Street Journal, he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting for a series about famine in Africal that he wrote with colleague Scott Kilman.
