This site contains information on nutrition and healthy eating, including specific information on child nutrition and mealtimes and links to MyPyramid.
The Brain Connection
This site contains information about the brain including clip art that can be downloaded to your computer. Also has a free e-mail newsletter.
Center for Injury Prevention
This site includes a variety of information on child passenger safety seats and injury prevention for children.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
This site contains information on a variety of issues related to physical well-being in children, including environmental hazards such as lead poisoning. The site also has a wide variety of links to other sites.
Child Trauma Academy
The ChildTrauma Academy is a not-for-profit organization based in Houston, Texas focused on education, service delivery and program consultation in the areas of child maltreatment. This site includes a variety of information on brain development and the effects of stress and trauma. The site includes links to several online learning modules related to brain development. Information is based on the work of noted researcher Dr. Bruce Perry.

This site is operated and maintained by an independent federal regulatory agency. Their goal is to reduce the risk of injury or death from consumer products. The site includes information on product recalls and educational materials related to child and adult safety issues.
Dana Foundation BrainWeb
The BrainWeb and Brain Resource Center provides information and links to validated sites about brain diseases and disorders. Sites listed in BrainWeb describe many different distorders and include FAQs (frequently asked questions), background for talking with physicians, treatment options, support information for families and caregivers, and sources for more information.
The Education Commission of the States
The Education Commission of the States (ECS) is an interstate compact of 49 states that strives to improve public education by facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and experiences among state policymakers and education leaders. The commission focuses on news and information, policy research and analysis, technology support, and networking around issues of public education. The site includes a section on Early Learning Issues, with a focus on brain development as a primary issue.
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center promotes understanding of neurological and behavioral development, emphasizing challenges associated with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Current research projects aim at enhancing understanding of brain-behavior relations in development, interactions between the brain and environment during development and how and why problems in any of these arise.

Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to helping foundations and corporate giving programs improve the health of all people.GIH generates and disseminates information about health issues and grantmaking strategies that work in health. The materials provide simple, accessible information about a wide range of issues related to brain development and early childhood.

Safe from the Start (SFTS) is a California initiative to help communities reduce the impact of violence on children, with an emphasis on children ages 0 to 5 who have been exposed to family, school and/or community violence.
