Vision

To provide a caring, supportive and sustainable environment for rural families and individuals through the dissemination of research-based information and education thereby increasing community capacity and strengthen families and youth.

Mission

To collaborate with community based organizations to develop and deliver educational programs that provide Colquitt County youth and families with the knowledge and skills that will foster civic development and encourage individual responsibility.

Voz de la Familia: Colquitt County Family and Community Project
  • To provide homebuyer training.
  • To promote personal and family safety.
  • To encourage family budgeting and understanding of banking systems and savings.
  • To improve family nutrition and health.
  • To help children succeed in school.
  • To improve job skills, including English acquisition and obtaining a GED.

Learning and teaching comes in many forms; one on one with an agent learning about personal dietary needs, large classes that address wide spread community needs, or through home visits, Voz de la Familia tailors the approach to the client special needs.
Adventure Through Learning: Colquitt County Youth Project
  • To enhance children’s academic achievement.
  • To support children’s social development and relationships with adults and peers.
  • To support positive behaviors and attitudes; there by lessening risky behaviors, such as alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
  • To provide en environment that encourages personal responsibility and discourages violence.
  • To promote parent and child interaction through community service projects and whole-family activities.
