Disaster Planning: Prepare... Because you care.
Individuals, families and communities may fall victim to disasters such as fires, flooding, severe storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, or dam failures. While we all hope these never happen, it has been shown time and again that being prepared for disasters is a smart thing to do. We cannot stop disasters from occurring, but we can limit their impact on us and those we love.
Experts tell us to plan to be on our own for a minimum of three days. The most important concept in developing a home emergency preparedness plan is communication. All members of your household need to be involved, so when disaster strikes, everyone knows what to do.
