Grant Report
This program is designed specifically to educate school administration and staff of the significance of indoor air quality problems in schools, the causes, the symptoms and ways to solve problems in a cost-effective way. By having several groups of people work together as a team under the guidance of a coordinator, this program encourages cooperation and a better understanding of IAQ health that can be passed on to students and their families. Training checklists are designed for each of the following groups:
- Teachers
- Administrative Staff
- Health Officers
- Food Service
- Maintenance
In addition, checklists have been created to determine the adequacy of physical structures and systems such as:
- Ventilation
- Building Maintenance
- Waste Management
- Renovation and Repairs
These checklists and other materials make it easy for non-experts to have an understanding of why indoor air quality is such an important health issue today in schools.
