Through the National Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Certification Course, GTIPI trains technicians to educate Georgia’s families and ensure our youngest passengers are safely secured in any vehicle.

Who should get training

These courses are aimed at training those in public safety including:

  • Police Departments
  • Fire Departments
  • Health Departments
  • Non- Profits
  • Other organizations dealing with Child Safety

Training

Safe Kids Worldwide’s National CPST Certification Course is offered through GTIPI at various locations in Georgia, throughout the year. The course is either a 3 or 3.5 day class that includes:

  • Instructional sessions
  • Multiple practice activities
  • Hands-on skills tests
  • A real life seat check event

How to become a technician

  1. Visit CPST Courses and get the Course ID of a course you can attend.
  2. Visit Safe Kids Worldwide, create a new user profile, then login to that profile.
  3. Open Course Search and enter the Course ID from Step 1.
  4. Reserve a seat. Your place in this course is dependent on approval from the lead instructor, and the timely payment of your course fee to Safe Kids.
  5. Pay your course fee to Safe Kids upon receipt of approval email from GTIPI.
