Apparel/Fabrics

If soap has not been thoroughly rinsed out, a stain resembling iron rust or scorch will appear during ironing. Rewashing the garment, rinsing thoroughly, will take out this discoloration.

CAUTIONS:

Always read the care label before trying any stain removal method. Do not use any products or procedures prohibited by the care label.

Carpet

Blended Fibers, Hemp, Jute, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

Sponge stain immediately with cool water. If stain persists, continue to sponge with cool water, flushing out all traces of the stain. If the color has been altered, or to prevent fading or bleeding, neutralize the spot with a few drops of a mild acid such as lemon juice, white vinegar or a 10 percent acetic acid solution. Sponge thoroughly with cool water. When stain is gone, blot to remove all excess moisture. Rub hand across pile (against the nap) to set the pile. Allow to dry.

NOTE: If soap has a high lye content, the fabric may be damaged permanently. SiIk and wool fibers are sometimes destroyed or weakened by strong soaps which contain alkalies or ammonia.

CAUTION:

Do not use lemon juice, vinegar or acetic acid full strength on cotton or linen fibers, as they may be permanently damaged by acids. Mix them with 2 parts water.

Hard Surface Floors

Brick, Concrete, Stone/masonry

Scrub with a strong solution of Washing (sal) Soda or detergent and water. Rinse well and dry.

NOTE: Never use soap on these surfaces. It leaves a scum that is almost impossible to remove.

Wipe the area with a sponge dipped in cool water then wrung out until damp. Make sure not tv spread the stain. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Polish and wax immediately to prevent wood damage.

Furniture

Aluminum, Bamboo, Cane, Fiberglass, Vinyl, Wicker

Scrub with a strong sol ution of washing (Sal) Soda or detergent and water. Rinse well and dry.

Ammonia may dissolve wood finishes. Work quickly. With a sponge dipped in cool water then wrung out until damp, wipe the area making sure not to spread the stain. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Polish or wax immediately to prevent wood damage.

Upholstered Furniture

Blended Fibers, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

  1. Immediately sponge the stain with cool water until all traces of ammonia are gone
  2. To prevent fading or bleeding, neutralize the stain by applying a couple of drops of a mild acid such as lemon juice or white vinegar. Sponge thoroughly again with cool water to remove the traces of acid. Blot thoroughly and allow to dry.

Mix dishwashing detergent in hot water and swish to make a great volume of suds. Dip a cloth in only the foam and gently wipe away any ammonia or soap residue. Rinse with a clean dry cloth. Dry away from heat. If the leather is untreated or has no finish on it, apply a commercial leather conditioner to return the softness and I uster to the surface.

Walls And Ceilings

Acoustical Tile, Dry Wall/gypsum Board, Glass, Mirror, Plaster, Paper, Paper (Regular, Untreated, Plastic Coated, Vinyl), Tile, Wood (Painted, Plastic Coated)

Rinse well with a sponge dipped in cool water. Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth. Also, baking soda applied with a damp cloth should cut soap film. NOTE: Treat spills on wallpaper immediately. Alkalies can dissolve adhesive behind paper. When wiping wallpaper, always use overlapping strokes to avoid streaking. Pat dry.

Paper (Leather, Suede)
