Analysis of vitamin D, vitamin B12/folate and other nutrition related blood components; Obesity; Adipose tissue development

Interests:
Dr. Hausman is a core lab leader coordinating blood processing and sample storage and analysis for studies of nutrition, genetics and longevity for the Georgia Centenarian Study Program Project. She also serves as a collaborator on several projects in children and older adults analyzing serum levels of vitamin D and related metabolites and hormones. Dr. Hausman also has a long-term interest in the influence of hormones, nutrients and a variety of natural compounds on adipose tissue development, metabolism and secretory function with studies conducted in several primary cell culture systems.
