 Non-Degree Seeking Graduate Student Program
Admission requires:
a) Completion of an undergraduate degree
b) Graduate Coordinator or another faculty willing to serve as the applicant's advisor.
Typically, students admitted to this program are completing the requirements to become eligible for admission to the MS or MFCS program, or they are completing dietetics coursework and not seeking a degree. There is no guarantee that non-degree seeking students will be admitted to any of our regular graduate programs.
Applicants who do not intend to pursue a degree but who wish to take courses for professional advancement, licensure, or certification purposes, and who hold a baccalaureate degree or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, should apply for non-degree status.
Non-degree applicants must submit the following to the Office of Graduate Admissions: the application for admission,
a $50 application-processing fee, two official copies of transcripts from the institution that awarded the highest degree, and a statement of purpose. The statement of purpose should be completed in the space provided on the application for admission. An academic major must be entered on the application for admission.
The following should be submitted to the Department of Foods and Nutrition: Application to UGA Department of Foods and Nutrition Graduate Program (http://www.fcs.uga.edu/fdn/grad/docs/fdn_grad_application.pdf), resume, and statement of purpose; letters of recommendation are optional and not required.
