Spring 2009 Total in-state tuition and fees are $3435 per semester for a full-time load.
Total out-of-state tuition and fees are $11139 per semester a full-time load
Summer 2009 (subject to change) Total in-state tuition and fees for 3 credits for the summer semester are $1,374
Total out-of-state tuition and fees for 3 credits for the summer semester are $3,300
Effective July 1, 2009 Graduate School application fees will be $75 for
domestic and $100 for international students.
Note: Tuition, but not fees, are waived for graduate students receiving assistantships.
Do You Offer Financial Aid?
Most students request financial aid. If you wish to receive financial aid in the form of an assistantship, which requires students to work for the department, then let us know the skills you can offer to the department. Preference for awarding of assistantships includes registered dietitians with work experience; degrees in dietetics, foods or nutrition to help teach college courses in foods and nutrition; experience in providing nutrition education in community settings; experience, certifications and/or licenses to provide physical activity programs in community settings; or research experience with animals, cell culture, genetics, or clinical chemistry to work in a laboratory setting. The number of assistantships awarded each year depends on the available funding, which varies from year to year. Many, but not all, students receive assistantships. Typical stipends in 2006-2007 ranged from $9,400/9 months for 33% time MS to $16,500 for 40% time PhD. Additional scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,000/year are available.

If a student is interested in a competitive Departmental Assistantship, he or she should complete their application as early as possible, preferably by January 1.
In 2009-2010, assistantships paid $10,000 to $23,000 annually. Unless otherwise stated, Departmental Assistantships that are assigned to start in Fall can be expected to continue for at least the 9-month school year, contingent upon satisfactory performance in the graduate program (grades of B or better with normal graduate course loads, and satisfactory performance of assigned assistantship activities). Students with assistantships take 12-15 credits per semester. University funding changes from year to year, but the Department will extend every effort to assure continued support for its best graduate students.
