Cindy received her BS FACS in Dietetics & Institutional Management in 1995, and is the Director of School Nutrition in Marietta City Schools. She is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Service Award from the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Association.*
Below she answers questions about her current position and her career as a dietetian.
What is your current position?
Director of School Nutrition - Marietta City Schools
How did you become interested in foods and nutrition?
I've wanted to be a dietitian since I was in fifth grade. I was fortunate to have a brief conversation with a friend's mom and she told me, "I am a dietitian and I help people be healthy by eating better." This stayed with me through school as a student athlete (in high school and college) as I felt the correlation between eating well and athletic performance.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am fortunate to love what I do as a dietitian. As the Director of School Nutrition in Marietta City Schools, I am fortunate to feed our students so that they can do the best they can in school and to help them build healthy habits for their lifetime.
