What have you learned about leadership through your work with others on campus?
Leadership is not so much leading but guiding. You want to help guide someone down the path that is best for them; you do not want to lead someone down a path you think is best for them.
What is your favorite UGA or FACS tradition?
Calling the Dawgs of course
What advice would you give to a student thinking about changing their major to FACS?
FACS majors can lead to a multitude of jobs that you would not think they would lead to. You can possibly change your major to a FACS major and still pursue the career you currently are. Most of the majors have room for you to take classes not related to FACS. I switched from biological sciences to Human Development and I am still pursuing midwifery.
Best advice for a 1st year student? Transfer student?
Get to know your teachers. I recommend you go meet your teacher the first day of class and get to know them. If not, at least go to them the moment you are having trouble, they are always willing to help and the FACS teachers are amazing and caring. They are personable and have very interesting lives outside of work that they often enjoy sharing with students.
What are your Future plans?
After graduating from UGA, I plan to attend graduate school in an accelerated nursing program and specialize in Midwifery.
