Student Testimonials

My experience as a Housing Management & Policy major has been memorable in ways that go far beyond just sitting in a classroom. I became president of the Housing Organization for Undergraduate Student Enhancement (H.O.U.S.E.) after being encouraged to come to a meeting by a professor. Little did I know that this club would introduce me to tons of mentors that influenced my career path. I feel so grateful to have been surrounded by faculty and staff that cared for my own path of success. Even on days that I have felt discouraged, I am quickly encouraged by all of the kind people that work in this department. I am thankful to have been a part of a program and college that truly puts its student’s dreams at the forefront. Blythe Bland, Senior
Housing Management & Policy and Consumer Economics
My dad has a construction company and I spent most of my childhood riding from job site to job site with him, I always knew I wanted to be an integral part of the housing industry. The Housing Management and Policy program in FACS furthered my love for the industry and has educationally provided me with the essentials to be successful. The teachers in this department are one of a kind. They truly care about you, your success, and they love to brag on you. My housing professors have provided me with hands-on experiences and opportunities that have impacted my career path more so than any lecture could. They have taken me to lunch with few of the most successful people in the real estate/housing industry, they have provided me with the opportunity to tour properties and get a hands-on education, and they have provided me with internship opportunities.
