This is the greenest generation of our time. Numerous youth are engaged in activities to help protect the environment. Educating and engaging the leaders of tomorrow on sustainability engages youth in their community and helps to build resilient communities. There are numerous ways to engage youth and college students in sustainable development both locally and internationally.

• You can start by getting your kids interested in reducing waste through recycling and composting. 
• Get your local school to take the cool school challenge and plant a school garden.
• Work with youth to help them understand climate change and the impact it has on wildlife and wildlands.
• An easy way to make a difference is to learn to use energy wisely so you don’t become an Energy Hog. 
• The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency created the Environmental Kids Club to help teachers and youth better understand the environment and what they can do to make a difference. 
• Ecoliteracy is easy to integrate into programs and helps provide a global perspective of sustainability.
• Host a Catalog Canceling Challenge at your school.
