Greenwashing

Greenwashing is easy to fall victim to. Whether inadvertently or deliberately, companies may make misleading or false claims about how environmentally friendly their products are when in fact they are not.  This is known as greenwashing.  It can be hard to find the truth about these products, but there are a few tricks you can learn to separate true eco-friendly products from the greenwashers.

Protect yourself from falling victim to greenwashing by:

• Learning about eco-labels
• Looking for third party certifications
• Reading consumer reviews
• Learning how to spot misleading labels
