The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program, or MIECHV, supports home visiting services to vulnerable children and their families, resulting in better outcomes in child health and development, school readiness and economic self-sufficiency.

Our programs reach out to families in Muscogee County, located in West Central Georgia on the Alabama border. It is home to Fort Benning, one of the largest military installations in the United States, which trains infantry soldiers for ground combat in many areas around the world. Persistent poverty is also a major concern in Muscogee; its affects can be seen in the percentage of low birth weight births, and infant mortality and teen birth rates that rise above the state rates.
