OurMilitary.mil provides information that can assist in better understanding the military and what our Service members and their families are facing. This web site will help you to learn not only about our military and our military families who contribute so much to our communities, but also about the tremendous spirit of support for our military that exists throughout the country. To that end, this web site also features stories of how our communities, non-profit organizations, individuals and corporations support our military in countless ways, and provides information about those organizations that provide such critical support.

National Military Family Association

The National Military Family Association (NMFA) is an organization with strong grassroots support that meets the needs of service members and their families with insightful information and recommendations, innovative programs, resources, and grassroots efforts to better the quality of life for military families. Whether it is information about educational opportunities, helping others understand legislation that affects military families, or navigating military healthcare options and benefits – the NMFA is just a phone call or email away.

Military OneSource

Military OneSource is an online resource that provides assistance to all military branches', service members, and their family members. Both online and telephone resources are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. Military One Source provides assistance in every area, from counseling, to needing a plumber in the middle of the night to fix a broken pipe, to needing veterinary service for a sick dog. It also handles things like helping families new to an area find childcare, or information about the school system, summer jobs, etc.

REACH: Supporting Military families through research and outreach - The University of Arizona

Military REACH is a website focused on improving the community capacity of communities in order to create, implement, and monitor educational programs that meet the needs of military families and youth on and off installation bases. Their site has information on current military family research, videos of the researchers describing their research, and briefs that summarize the current state of research.

Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University

The Military Family Research Institute (MFRI) works to support service members and their families through research, outreach, grant offerings, and more. There are several pages on this user-friendly website. The Publications and Resources page has academic sources and valuable information for researchers, clinicians, and other professionals who work with military families. The Newsroom includes links to news and feature stories related to military families. The Events area lists upcoming meetings, conferences and other events supported by MFRI. Finally, thePrograms and Grants details key MFRI research, grants, outreach, and higher education programs currently available.

Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families at Kansas State University

The Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families focus is on health and resiliency of National and International military personnel, veterans, and their families after battle. They provide documents that can help military families talk about deployment, cope with separation, resolve conflict, and more. They also include a list of helpful links (e.g. Military OneSource, TRICARE, and Real Warriors) and videos that can be beneficial to military personnel and their families. They also provide information about their programs (i.e., Operation: Military Kids, Military Family Provider Network) and lecture videos about strengthening military families.
