Project Goals

  • Identify and assess the impact of pivotal Army Youth Development Project (AYDP) – Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS) programs and curricula on military families located at garrisons experiencing high levels of deployment
  • Explore individual and family adjustments in the context of Army life and evaluate effects of prevention and intervention programs on these family adjustments
  • Survey a significant subset of sole/single parent families to determine challenges and strengths unique to this population
  • Determine social, emotional, and practical changes youth and families experience during their Army career life course
  • Examine how Army program participation interfaces with social, emotional, and practical changes in youth and families’ lives
