Project Goals

  • Explore the breadth of social network attachments of youth in Army families
  • Identify which formal networks, (in particular, Army CYSS related) seem to effectively engage youth, and productively affect their development and their resilience
  • Discover which informal network associations seem to enhance youth development and resilience, and which seem to arrest productive development
  • Understand how these formal and informal networks align and interact to build youth resilience; in particular, how formal networks (organized programs and activities) assist youth in building positive relationships with other youth and with caring adults
