Faculty and graduate students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program are engaged in a wide range of outcome and process research projects. Much of the research is funded by grants. Through assistantship duties and volunteering students have opportunities to gain experience in all aspects of the research process. Faculty members encourage and help students to prepare papers for publication and make presentations at professional meetings. There are also opportunities for students to carry out their own research projects.
Current projects focus on clinical process and outcome research, couple relationships, conflict resolution among Latino couples and families, testing and designing interventions for families and couples living in poverty, and understanding the process of marital therapy.
