The University of Georgia Family and Consumer Science Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce that we were selected to receive several wireless laptops and printers from My Medicare Matters™, the community-based initiative that provides education and outreach about Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit. My Medicare Matters is sponsored by the National Council on Aging and the Access to Benefits Coalition, with support from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP.
This technology is being used to support Family and Consumer Science Cooperative Extension community education and outreach efforts during the Medicare prescription drug coverage open enrollment period and beyond. Those currently enrolled in a Medicare prescription drug plan or those who are newly eligible for coverage may enroll in a plan of their choice.
"We selected the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension to receive this technology because of their quality work and the important role they play as a valued source of information and help to people with Medicare and their families in their community." said Wendy Zenker, Director of the Access to Benefits Coalition.
FACS Cooperative Extension is here to help people make the Medicare D prescription drug coverage decision that they believe best meet their individual needs. We can also help people determine whether they might qualify for the Extra Help program available to help people with limited income pay for their prescription drug coverage.
