FDNS 2100 Human Nutrition and Food (3) Nutritional needs and food choices for the optimal health of the individual during the life cycle. (Pre-requisite for all FDNS courses) Athens campus fall and spring semester. Independent and distance learning; IDL offered every semester.
FDNS 6050 Optimal Nutrition for the Life Span (3) Nutritional needs of infants, young children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, and middle-aged and elderly people. Pre-requisite is FDNS 2100. Athens campus in fall semester. Independent and distance learning; IDL offered every semester.
FDNS 6660 Foods and Nutrition Education Methods (3) Philosophy, principles, methods and materials involved in nutrition education. Application of nutrition knowledge and skills in the development, delivery and evaluation of nutrition education curriculum and programs in schools and communities are emphasized. Pre-requisites are FDNS 2100 and FDNS 6050. Online and some Athens based classes. Offered in fall semester, beginning 2007. Approval pending.
FDNS 6770 Managing School Nutrition Programs (3) Principles of managing school nutrition programs including federal, state, and local regulations; planning appealing and nutritious meals for children; budget management; human resources management; organizational leadership; marketing and communications; planning, assessment, and evaluation of programs. Pre-requisites are FDNS 2100 and FDNS 6050. Online and some Athens based classes. Offered in spring semester, beginning 2008. Approval pending.
EDAP 7030 Organizational Leadership in Schools(3) Theories, models, and research focusing on the development of a reflective-critical understanding of school leadership. Athens campus and Gwinnett campus. Offered every semester at one of these campuses.

Personnel Administration and Staff Development (3)

Principles, policies and practices for employer-employee relationships in school systems. Comprehensive planning and implementation of staff development programs in schools. Emphasis is on human resource management. Athens campus and Gwinnett campus. Offered every semester at one of these campuses.
EDAP 7060 School Business and Resource Management (3) Business management functions, with emphasis given to the budgetary process, accountability and educational efficiency. Athens campus and Gwinnett campus. Offered every semester at one of these campuses.
ERSH 6200 Methods of Research in Education (3) Diverse research approaches used in behavioral science settings, including critical review and interpretation of published research. Athens campus and Gwinnett campus. Offered every semester at one of these campuses.
