The University of Georgia’s Fashion Design Student Association is a student organization that prides itself on extreme fashion and creative personalities. FDSA began one year ago by two inventive Fashion Merchandising students, but now encompasses men and women majoring in Advertising, Journalism, Business, Textile Design, Art, Fabric Design and Fashion Merchandising.
Since UGA does not offer fashion design as part of the curriculum, FDSA was created to help UGA students interested in a career in fashion design build their portfolios and resumes. In addition, FDSA allows students the opportunity to develop the competence and skills needed to succeed in a fast-pace career in the fashion industry.
If you have a flair for fashion; if you have the ability to spot trends before your friends; if you have the aptitude for fashion design and/or fashion merchandising; if you have a knack for photography, journalism, or visual display, then become a member and invest your talent in the Fashion Design Student Association!

When Do We Meet: Monday at 6:30 PM. We generally meet once a week until the show is planned, then every other week.
Where Do We Meet: Dawson Hall, Rm 308, 6:30 PM
Are There Fees Associated With Join FDSA? $20 (INCLUDING T SHIRT). This is subject to change to a lower amount, depending on the yearly budget. Dues are not due immediately, and can be paid increments.
I Am Interested But The Scheduled Meeting Times Conflict With My Schedule, Can I Still Participate? YES. We understand that everyone has busy schedules, with classes and working. We try to accommodate every one’s schedules. Contact us to work out a schedule for you.
Do I Have To Be Interested In Fashion Design To Participate? No. You do not have to be interested in fashion design to be apart of FDSA. Remember, a lot goes into making a successful fashion show. It involves a variety of proffessions. We welcome all majors.
Who Can Join? We are looking for people who have an interest in fashion or in being in the fashion industry and is very passionate and dedicate to being successful. If you are interested please come to our meeting.

Fashion Shows
FDSA provides an outlet of creative textile expression in the form of the SIGNATURE STYLES fashion shows, which are featured once a semester. These fashion shows include original, designer clothing by our very own UGA student designers as well as guest fashion designers. The catwalk is the most important element in our public relations campaign. FDSA depends on quality models, and we promote bodies of all shapes and sizes!
