ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW

A reminder to all supervisors of the importance of planning for the annual performance review of all faculty and staff. The Annual Performance Review of Employees in FACS guidelines: http://www.fcs.uga.edu/docs/Annual_review_FACS_Final_10_16_2011.pdf are posted on the Policies and Procedures web site.  Deadline for faculty for completion of Faculty Activity Repository (FAR) and any additional information as requested by your department heads is January 15.  Deadline for completion of all classified staff performance reviews is January 31.

Future changes to UGA FAR:

UGA FAR provided by Digital Measures system will be phased out over the next year.  Below are a few FAQs known at this time.  More details will be shared as the new system is developed.

  • The new professional activities profiling system is based on Symplectic, Ltd.’s Elements platform.
  • All data in the current UGA FAR will be migrated to the new system. Final migration date is scheduled for mid-2015.
  • The new system is to be implemented in two phases. Phase I is to be completed by July 2015 and will include completion of data migration and move to faculty data entry in the new system. Phase II will include further customization.
  • Primary improvements in Symplectic Elements over UGA FAR (Digital Measures)

o   Automatic population of (most) publications from publication databases

o   Improved public profiling tools, including VIVO integration

o   Improved internal search tools (e.g., finding expertise for collaboration)

o   More flexible reporting tools

o   Ability to access data using custom apps for web pages, business intelligence reporting, research analytics
