COLLEGE ASSEMBLY – WED. AUGUST 23, 3:30 PM, DAWSON ROOM 110

I urge all faculty and staff, graduate teaching assistants to join us and the special guests for the fall semester FACS College Assembly.

The summer flew by quickly, and yet many policy decisions and activities around the world compel me to convene a conversation with experts in the university who respond to our desire for a safe learning and working environment. While we typically have this important gathering in October, this fall’s Assembly is set the second week of class for a reason. Make it a priority to attend.

The focused topic of the College Assembly is health and safety for all – faculty, staff and students. Guests and presenters include UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson. Also on the agenda will be UGA Cares, Carrie Smith, Assistant Director and/or her staff.

In addition, we will introduce new staff hires and general announcements of university and college initiatives and opportunities.

TEDxUGA NOMINATIONS OPEN THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30

TEDxUGA, ideas worth spreading, has benefited from FACS faculty and staff ideas and talents! They are accepting presenter nominations year-round at tedxuga.com/nominate, but do a major push for nominations during the month of September. They notify each nominated presenter via email, ask them to accept/decline the nomination, and then provide additional information about the idea they'd like to share. After nominations close on September 30, a committee from the TEDxUGA Advisory Council meets to select the faculty, staff, and alumni presenters that will take the stage.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact TEDxUGA. We're looking forward to reviewing your nomination!
