FACS WEEK IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING!
We are excited for the second annual FACS Week http://www.fcs.uga.edu/facsweek, an entire week of events in the college including the Saturday events to celebrate FACS students, faculty, staff and alumni. The week of Oct. 15 - 21 will begin with our signature FACS Homecoming Tailgate which begins 2 hours before kick-off for the game against Vanderbilt! Tailgate reservations are required by Friday, October 7 for the purchase of the tailgate meal behind Dawson Hall. Contact Vicky Dorsey for more information.

FACS GRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL FUNDS
Thanks to generous donors, the college continues to have funds to support graduate student travel funding for fall semester. We recently reviewed applications from 23 PhD students and 2 MS students who requested travel support for several domestic and international conferences and professional opportunities. Unfortunately we didn’t have the $21,400 it would have taken to cover all the requests. However, with the departments providing a total of $7,010 in matching support, we were able to allocate $8,550 from these five funds for 25 students.
- Lynda Walters Support Fund
- Inez Tumlin Graduate Student Fund
- Evelyn Harris Academic Support Fund
- Mary Creswell Research Fund
- Eleonora Costa Graduate Support Fund
The deadline to submit applications to the FACS Dean's Office for Graduate Student Travel Funding is January 15 for spring semester. All student requests must be presented on the Graduate Student Travel Funding form. All signatures are required on these forms as well. Applications received earlier than January 15th will be held for review.
Students interested should complete the application located at the links below.
Funding will be awarded based on availability of funds. An email will be sent to students notifying them of their award along with the department head, graduate coordinator, departmental accountant and FACS Business Office. Please let Sherri Stephens know if you have any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org.
