Calling all 2017 Spring and Summer Graduates!
The FACS Convocation is a more personal ceremony for all graduation candidates of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. It will be held at The Classic Center on May 5th at 3:00 pm.
The event is free, but registration is required. If you’d like to attend and be recognized in the ceremony, be sure to register by April 28. Click on the image above to register.

Looking to make an impact on World Health and Policy? How about networking with experts researchers from uGA, Emory, CDC, as well as around the world? Looking for Model UN with a health twist? Apply for the American Mock World Health Organization 2017-2018 Executive and General Board.
AMWHO UGA is an interdisciplinary organization that seeks to educate members on global health policy issues through simulations of the World Health Organization. AMWHO is unique in that it encompasses all backgrounds including pre-health, pre-law, finance, journalism, and even ecology to create discourse aimed at writing resolutions sent to the WHO.

Are you interested in a career in Pharmacy? The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is hosting its Spring Open House. Learn more about the profession and the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of Georgia. We will discuss the pre-requsites for admission, the admissions process, and the Pharm.D. curriculum.
You will also have a chance to interact with current students and faculty. Light refreshments will be served.
The event will be held on Thursday, April 20th from 5:00pm-6:30pm in Pharmacy South building, room 201.
Come out to Counterpoint Dance Company’s final showcase! We are UGA’s premiere student-run dance company, and we have been rehearsing all year to perform our best contemporary, hip hop, and jazz pieces. This is a show you won’t want to miss!
Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at the door. The admission ticket also includes a reception with the dancers after the show. Food and beverages will be catered by local busineses.
Are you Down To Pitch?
Swim with the sharks Friday, Apr 14th at Thinc Studio to learn how to turn your dreams into reality through our Shark-Tank style pitch competition. Individuals will be placed into teams and create a hypothetical charitable business to improve Athens. After a short brainstorming session, teams will pitch their ideas to a series of influential local entrepreneurs. Sponsors include Mama's Boy, Your Pie, Zombie Donuts, Docebo, RoundSphere, Chuck Wolf's PhotoDesignBar, and Alex Torrey from umano.
All proceeds from the event will go to three local charities: UGA HEROs, Creature Comfort's Get Comfortable, and 4Athens Youth Coding Scholarships.
Winners will be rewarded with a GRAND PRIZE PACK.
Free food, beer, wine and other beverages will be available at the event. Dress is casual.

Arch Ready: Career Assessments 101: Discover Your Interests

Join us for an interactive workshop to learn about your interests and how they relate to majors and careers.
In this workshop, you will:
• Learn the importance of self‐assessment and self‐knowledge related to career planning.
• Review the results of your interest assessment in depth.
• Find and use resources to connect your interests to college majors and occupations.
This workshop is limited to 15 people per session. Students can attend ONE "Career Assessments 101: Discover Your Interests" workshop for Arch Ready credit.
PLEASE BRING YOUR LAPTOP or TABLET IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE.
Personal Statement Writing Lab
Date: April 24, 2017
Time: 5:00pm until 6:00pm
Location: MLC Room 367
If you're applying to medical school, dental school, or any health profession school during the 2018 application cycle, it's time to start thinking about writing your personal statement. In this small group session, we'll discuss what admissions committees look for in personal statements and go over techniques to improve your writing skills. Please bring your laptop and be ready to write. Attendance is limited to 30 students, and pre-registration is required via Handshake.
