Don Bower (Ph.D. 1989) served the University of Georgia for thirty-three years. The majority of his work was within Public Service and Georgia Cooperative Extension. He retired in 2008 as Professor and Department Head of the Department of Child and Family Development. Upon his retirement, his colleagues and friends created and funded this named endowment in his honor.
The College invites currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing in any FACS program to apply for the Don Bower Extension Experience. Applications submitted in January 2017 and selected for funding will provide students with Extension experience opportunities during the Maymester, summer, or fall semesters 2017. Available funding: $1,000.00
Applications be accepted before midnight Friday, January 20, 2017. A stipend will be awarded for a student experience or internship (either undergraduate or graduate) to have an exposure to the field of Family and Consumer Sciences Cooperative Extension work.

The Entrepreneurship Program invites you to take part in UGA's Next Top Entrepreneur hosted each year during Athens' StartUp Week.
UGA's Next Top Entrepreneur is open to student startup teams from all over the country. During this live event, teams pitch their existing business or idea in front of an audience and a panel of judges who have experience in the startup and business world. The winning team is awarded $10,000!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Students from any college or university with a solid business idea, concept, and/or existing business who are looking to take it to the next level.
