Odom, a consumer journalism and Spanish major from Moultrie, was presented the award at the annual Blue Key alumni banquet on Oct. 3.
The award is given in memory of Tucker Dorsey, who was an accomplished student leader dedicated to UGA, its heritage, tradition, ideals and goals. Dorsey died in an automobile accident in December 1965. The first Dorsey Memorial Scholarship was granted in 1966.
Odom was presented the award by Dr. Holly C. Gooding, former Dorsey scholarship winner and this year’s recipient of the Young Alumnus Award.
Odom was inducted into the Blue Key Honor Society in April. Her emphasis is in consumer foods, and she aspires to be a chef and write cookbooks and teach cooking classes.
“It’s such a huge honor,” Odom said of receiving the award.
