Lauren Travis, a junior Family and Consumer Sciences Education major from Blue Ridge, has received the Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Undergraduate Student Scholarship.
The scholarship is funded by the GAFCS, a state affiliate of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and is awarded based on academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
Travis received the award at the GAFCS annual conference in Tifton. She is Director of Recruitment for the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is currently serving a practicum at Russell Middle School in Winder.
“I was so excited when I found out that I won,” Travis said. “I was honored that out of all the applicants across the state of Georgia, I was chosen. I’m just so thankful.”
