Nearly 100 graduates from the Class of 2016 participated in the FACS Fall Convocation ceremony on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Sarah-Rose Galucki, a human development and family science major from Lawrenceville, was presented the Academic Achievement Award for having the highest GPA in the class.
Karly Whitehead, a financial planning major from Dacula, was named the Outstanding Senior as nominated by faculty members.
Both Galucki and Whitehead received a plaque and a check for $500 courtesy of funds established by Dr. Bill Flatt and his late wife, Mrs. June Flatt.
“We recognize and celebrate the commitment you and your close family and friends made to reach this milestone and are eager to watch how you will go out and help make our world a little better place,” FACS Dean Linda Kirk Fox told the graduates. “Indeed, so many of you already have, and for that, we are grateful.”
