Last January Vicky Dorsey, Director of Alumni and Corporate Engagement experienced her first Chilly Dawg 5K. "Although it was a very chilly morning, the generous support of the event provided warmth to the lives of students long after the race was completed," states Dorsey.
"Our goal is to raise money for our student scholarships and student focused programs and activities. Through sponsorships, we strive to increase awareness of the outstanding happenings at the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia."

The 2016 event introduced a newly designed "chilly dawg" and a new pre-race day packet pick up option. On Friday before the race, FACS Alumni Association Board members were stationed at The Athens Running Company in Five Points. Over 96 race packets were picked up by eager race registrants.
On a beautiful Saturday morning, that wasn't too chilly, over 295 participants enjoyed the course.
