Outreach

I am a board member of the Longwood University Real Estate Foundation.  The Real Estate Foundation manages real property gifts on behalf of Longwood University, in addition to acting as an agent for campus development at the direction of the University's President and Board of Visitors.

Areas of Expertise

Business and Securities Law.  Broker/Dealer operations and compliance. Section 103 Federal Income tax matters. Non-Profit law and governance.

Piedmont Securities LLC is registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) as a broker/dealer and is a member of FINRA, MSRB and SIPC. Founded in 2012, Piedmont Securities has a focus on three primary business lines: (1) structuring and private placement of fixed income securities (taxable and tax-exempt), (2) financial advisory services (municipal and corporate), and (3) real estate and project finance investment banking. Specific sectors/areas of concentration include higher education and non-profit organizations, state and local government, privatized student housing and public/private partnerships.  

The Firm’s managing member and founder is Greg Fawcett. Prior to founding Piedmont Securities, Mr. Fawcett was a senior investment banker for 9 years at a large national broker/dealer where he actively assisted clients in the development, structuring and execution of comprehensive financing plans involving higher education, economic development and essential government purpose projects. In total Mr. Fawcett has 15 years of securities industry experience, in addition, to a legal background as a licensed attorney in North Carolina and Tennessee.
