Research

Whitney Bignell is investigating the impact of an online collaborative case-based learning curriculum on students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes about obesity prevention and treatment.

Teaching

Ms. Bignell has assisted with teaching FDNS 4050 and FDNS 4540 as a M.S. student.

Job Description

As Wellness Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, I coordinate implementation of two evidence-based programs, Stanford University's Chronic Disease Self-Management Program and MaineHealth's A Matter of Balance fall prevention program. I also am co-developing an online training program for community professionals to assist older adults in applying for SNAP benefits, specifically utilizing the Standard Medical Expense Deduction (SMED) waiver. Finally, I serve as MPH Advisor in the Department of Health Policy and Management and currently teach HPAM 3600 Introduction to Health Policy.
