The University of Georgia Student Dietetic Association is an organization run by students in
the Department of Foods and Nutrition majoring in Dietetics. Our goal to serve the college,
community, and each other is met by involving as many dietetics students as possible to promote
a message of health, good nutrition, and exercise. We participate in various service projects
such as preparing meals for the homeless shelter, helping out with local run/walks, teaching
nutrition lessons to Clarke County elementary schools, and raising money for the Children's
Miracle Network. Our club hosts various speakers from around the state who inform us about
internship programs, job options in the field of dietetics, and even eating healthy. In order
to make connections with the professors in our department, SDA hosts a faculty dinner once or
twice a year so we can talk one-on-one and get to know them. Though our organization stays
very busy and works very hard to accomplish our goals, we also have lots of fun spending time
together and making memories to last a lifetime.
Why should I be involved?
- to learn about the field of dietetics and mandatory internships
- to meet and build relationships with other nutrition majors
- to build your resume by being involved and active
Meetings
