 China Study Abroad: Global Sourcing of Soft Goods

Description of program: This twelve day trip to China will provide an opportunity to understand the Chinese culture and gain first hand experience of the fast growing economy. We will visit one of the biggest international soft goods sourcing company in Hong Kong with its impressive design center. Factory sites will be toured to get a prospective of the soft goods industry in China and how products are produced. We will visit the Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology to see a unique museum which display the clothing the majority "Han" Chinese as well as other 55 minority ethnical groups in China. You will also have the opportunity to visit the students and faculty members in the institute. We will also visit incredible tourist sites like the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Beijing and terracotta army in Xi'an.
While studying in China, students will:
- Gain a broader knowledge of how China has reached a dominant state in soft goods production
- Study Chinese culture, history, and society
- See the most magnificent tourist sites in the most important cities in China
- View Chinese fashion displays, stores, and aesthetics

Application Deadline:
- Application and $500 non-refundable deposit are due Dec. 23, 2011.
- Second deposit of $1,000 due January 31, 2012.
- Third deposit of $2,700 due March 15, 2012
