The University of Georgia will host commencement for undergraduates on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. The graduate ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. We encourage you to participate in the campus commencement activities. For more information and questions regarding UGA commencement ceremonies, visit commencement.uga.edu.
A more personal ceremony for graduates of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in Mahler Hall located in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to recognize you at this time. Family members are invited to attend. The event is free, but registration and tickets are required.
In addition to registering for the UGA undergraduate ceremony, a separate registration and tickets are required for student participation in the FACS Convocation. Registration will be open from September 1 - November 30, 2017. Tickets can be picked up at the Student Success and Advising Center, Room 112 Dawson Hall from December 4-8. Each graduate who registers will receive up to four (4) tickets.

Appropriate academic regalia must be worn to participate in FACS Convocation. Caps, gowns and hoods may be purchased at the UGA Bookstore. Contact the University of Georgia Bookstore at 706-542-3171 or via email for purchasing information. Candidates should wear their tassels over the right eye until the degree is awarded and over the left eye afterwards.
The FACS convocation is expected to last approximately one and a half hours. Please arrive at Mahler Hall at 10:45 a.m. to check in. FACS representatives will be located near easels with each department's name. You will obtain an introduction card and line up with the other graduation candidates behind the easel for your department.
Parking is available in the South Campus Parking Deck adjacent to the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Diplomas will be mailed from the UGA Registrar's Office approximately 6 weeks after commencement.
