The FACS Forward Mentor Program connects freshmen and transfer students with upperclassmen. Mentees will find a new "FACS Friend" and mentors will help new students navigate life at UGA while introducing opportunities in FACS.

Why should you be a mentor?

  • Polish your interpersonal skills while giving back to FACS
  • Network with FACS alumni and staff
  • Gain leadership skills by sharing your FACS knowledge
  • Increased opportunity to broaden your friend base and engage a diverse group of students

What are the mentor requirements?

  • Must have been a FACS student for at least (2) semesters (fall and spring)
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Agree to mentor a FACS student for (1) academic year
  • Attend a mentor training session through the Student Success and Advising Center
  • Attend events with your mentee to include the FACS Forward fall kickoff and end of year celebration

Are you a rising 1st or 2nd year FACS student? Apply for an upperclassman to be your mentor. Mentors are one of your most valuable resources on campus and are trained to coach you to success. Applications are accepted year round.
