Interests:
My career has changed from that of a professor to a full-time administrator. Although my career focus has changed, I am still engaged in research and nontraditional teaching outside the classroom -- "teachable moments". My scholarship focuses on issues concerning graduate education rather than being discipline based. With a team of researchers, I am currently exploring strategic interventions for doctoral completion. In addition, I have been actively implementing professional development and leadership workshops for graduate students to enhance their educational experience here at UGA and to prepare them for the diverse work place. Graduate education is my passion.
I am also active in my professional organizations: Council of Graduate Schools, Southern Conference of Graduate Schools, and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Education: | 1982 | Ph.D. | Textile Science | The University of Tennessee
| | 1977 | M.S. | Textile Science | Cornell University
| | 1972 | B.S. | Textiles Clothing | Utah State University |
