Hats

West African Textiles shows a selection of items from several countries including Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Cameroon. The exhibit was created by students in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors’ “World Textiles” class. The objects were either selected from the Historic Clothing and Textiles collection or borrowed from UGA professors from Africa. The exhibit was created in conjunction with the 17th annual Darl Snyder Lecture presented by Joanne B. Eicher, editor-in-chief of the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion.
