 Undergraduate Programs Internships

Students

The Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors offers students the opportunity of combining their academic learning with practical work experience. This is accomplished through the internship program in each of the department's majors. Students gain experience that is designed to confirm career choices and develop skills needed in future employment. The internship program develops student leadership and managerial skills through a learning contract with the intern, the department and the employer. An internship provides students with an excellent career opportunity for future employment.

The internship is an optional experience. TMI students enroll in 3-6 hours of TXMI 5910 (Internship) for a full time internship in the student's area of specialization. Review the requirements and special circumstances for internships in each major. Please see your academic advisor for information about prerequisites, requirements, and application procedure required for each major.
