What is your fondest memory of your time spent in the college?

I spent many happy days at Dawson Hall with my friends in the Nutrition department, and I also worked in the FDN department setting up supplies needed for food labs.

How did FACS prepare you for your career?

I spent five years working as a registered dietitian and got a perfect foundation in FACS for my first career.  I have remained in healthcare for over thirty years and my passion for health was established in FACS.

Why do you give to FACS/UGA?

I feel that it is important to give back to FACS because of the foundation that it gave me to be successful in the healthcare industry.   I also believe that it is important to give to the department of my major, and know that FACS is a college that doesn’t receive the same major financial support that some other programs at UGA receive, therefore making it more important for me as a FACS alumni to give continually to the college.

What is the best advice you can share with current FACS students?

Pursue your passion by using your major to achieve your goals.  I see many Nutrition majors using their degree to go to medical school, physician assistant’s school, and seek faculty status within universities.  I believe that FACS will support students in their endeavors to reach career goals.
